Our Privacy Policy
Ivy House does not collect or share personal information. We do not follow you or establish your profile.
This confidentiality protocol details the – very limited and non-personal – information that Ivy House may collect, and our disclosure policy.
What is “personal information”?
Information is considered personal when it says something about a human being that is or can (only) be identified.
This definition comes from European law, which applies to Ivy House, and is intentionally broad in order to provide a high level of privacy protection.
This means, for example, that not only names and email addresses may be personal information, but also numbers and other identifiers, such as your IP address, to the extent that they link other information to a specific human being.
IP Addresses
The IP address associated with your search will not be saved or shared.
In order to avoid the unpleasant possibility that something you search for online may be traced back to you via your IP address, we do not store or share the IP address of any of our visitors.
The only exception is for “abusive” (automated) requests that quickly submit more requests to Ivy House in a short period of time than any normal human being could do.
Collection of information
We do not collect any personal information about our visitors.
This is an very important condition to protect your privacy. If personal information is not collected, it cannot be stolen, requested, leaked or exposed.
In fact, the only information we record is all the searches made on our site every day (a measure of overall traffic) and occasionally, other statistics strictly non-personal. These statistics may include the number of times our service is used by an operating system type, browser type, language, etc.; or a combination of these criteria.
We only count the numbers and are in no way able to know what your specific operating system, browser, language settings, etc. may be, because we do not record this information.
This zero data collection policy protects your privacy, since your IP address, browser, and platform information may be combined with other data to uniquely identify your computer, your location, or yourself.
Cookies
Ivy House does not use identification cookies.
You can regularly delete cookies from your computer’s hard drive, erase any history data that may have been saved from your previous web browsing. If you delete cookies and return to a website, there is no cookie to recognize you.
E-mail addresses
When you send comments, questions, suggestions or feedback to Ivy House, either by e-mail or through our contact form, and attach an e-mail address and/or contact details, Ivy House may use this information to respond to you.
Ivy House will not reveal or resell your details to third parties.
