Our D-day beach holiday cottages (French gites) are fully equipped for self catering holidays. They are tastefully decorated, furnished and have modern appliances. Each cottage has a kitchen, living and dining area and a modern and clean shower room. A perfect base for visiting the Normandy D-day beaches.
Visiting the Normandy D-day beaches
A D-day beaches holiday in Normandy is a fascinating experience and is something that you will remember for a long time to come. We are surrounded by World War 2 history so you do not have to go far to visit the historic battlefields and cemeteries from the Normandy invasion. The area around our house witnessed fierce fighting on D-day and there are many remnants of the Atlantic Wall coastal defences just a few minutes walk away.
Holidaying with children
We have children so we know how hard holidaying can be for families. We welcome families and go out of our way to make your holiday as pleasurable as possible. We are happy to offer travel cots, high chairs and stair gates free of charge for your stay in our cottages. Should you need any extra special requirements for your children or baby, please do not hesitate in contacting us.
Facilities at our holiday accommodation
Each cottage has been equipped with a flat screen TV with satellite reception of English, American and French television. There is also a large selection of DVD films to choose from should there be nothing to watch on TV.
To stay connected with the outside world, FREE Wi-Fi ADSL Internet is available for all of our clients. Surf the web, check your emails or plan what you will visit next whilst you are here; all from the comfort of your cottage.
Our holiday cottages have access to beautiful gardens that back on to wonderful countryside and the dunes of the D-day beach. A holiday at our accommodation is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern living. Relax and unwind in a tranquil setting and enjoy our lovely shared garden areas.
A welcome start to your holiday
We provide a welcome basket of essential food items which will last a couple of days; this includes: bread, milk, orange juice, butter, cereals, tea, coffee, and sugar. As they are self catering rentals, guests are responsible for their own provisions for the rest of the holiday.
Things to consider before you book your D-day beach holiday at Ivy House
We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets, and it should be noted that we do not allow smoking anywhere inside the cottages; however, guests are welcome to use the garden area should they wish to smoke. We ask that our visitors kindly respect our non-smoking policy in consideration of the comfort of others and of the fabric of our old house.
